Greetings All,
I have long believed that educating the minds and hearts of our youth is the best way to make a positive impact on society, and I am excited to embark with you all on a journey which will further enable us to do so. My experience in education began in 2011 when I moved to San Diego and began working as a Special Education Classroom Assistant in Resource English. The experience made me a strong believer in fully inclusive education for all students with special needs, which was not taking place at that school, and inspired me to make meeting the diverse needs of my students a top priority. Last year I began working at Health Sciences High and Middle College, where I co-teach 10th grade English and work with students in academic support. This year I will be starting HSHMC Drama Club and be putting on a spring musical. I truly love what I do as it enriches my life in immeasurable ways.
I am from the Santa Cruz Mountains in Northern California and attended San Francisco State University before relocating to San Diego to be near extended family, my newborn (now almost 4!) niece being my largest incentive. My passions include the arts, nature and family. I am also an avid lover of travel and exploration.
I enjoy nothing more then a hike through an enchanting forest or exploring an ancient city on foot. If I have the company of a good friend or a great book then I couldn’t ask for more!
